On February 26, 2026, Divi 5 was officially launched. This concludes the beta phase and Divi 5 is now the new “live” standard. The beta had been available for some time and Webtify also worked with it, so we know exactly what to expect.
Elegant Themes is clear about it: Divi 5 is “better than Divi 4 in every way, and once you get used to it, it’s hard to go back.” That sounds like quite a promise … and fair is fair: in practice, so far Divi 5 really does feel like a big step forward. But what exactly has changed? And what does this mean for you as a Webtify customer?
Divi 5 is not just an “update”
Divi 5 is not just the next version. It is a complete rebuild (rewrite) of the framework. And you notice that mainly in three places: speed, ease of use and future-proofing. Some working methods have been renewed, so it may take some switching, but once you get into the flow, you don’t really want to go back.
What are the main differences between Divi 4 and Divi 5?
- Core rebuilt: Divi 5 was built from scratch with a modern, modular structure. Result: faster, more stable and much more maintainable.
- No more shortcodes: Divi 4 relied heavily on shortcodes. Divi 5 lets go of that, leaving your content cleaner and your website with fewer “detours” when loading.
- Faster Visual Builder & front-end: Divi 5 loads less unnecessary code and responds noticeably faster. Think smoother scrolling, faster saving and loading, and more pleasant working on larger pages.
- One-click editing: You simply click on the element you want to modify without searching for small icons or opening extra menus. That works faster AND feels more natural.
- Better extensibility for developers: Divi 5 is designed to be more developer-friendly. This makes customization, integrations and future development easier and more robust.
- Faster responsive tools: Settings for desktop/tablet/mobile are faster to find and easier to fine-tune. This saves a lot of clicking during responsive optimization.
- Dockable panels & better panel management: multiple panels open simultaneously, docking and tabbing. Less “screen chaos,” more overview and faster work.
- Navigation: You can see at a glance where you are (section/row/module) and navigate more easily through complex layouts.
- Light & dark mode: Do you work a lot or at night? Then dark mode is a nice upgrade: more pleasant for your eyes and it goes along with your own devices.
- Improved preset management: Managing presets and styles is faster and more consistent, with a more modern approach to reuse. Handy if you want sleek and uniform designs.
What does this mean for you as a Webtify customer?
Are you a Webtify customer? Then you don’t have to worry about anything. We migrate all our clients to Divi 5 in a phased and controlled manner. You don’t have to do anything: we arrange the technical migration, check everything and make sure your website remains stable and future-proof.
Don’t have a website with Webtify yet and still working with Divi 4? Then this is a good time to take a critical look at your website. Elegant Themes will continue to support Divi 4 for at least another twelve months after the release of Divi 5 (until February 2027). After that, Divi 5 will become the standard and websites will gradually transition (where possible). This will give website builders and developers the space to quietly get used to the new environment as well as to features that were rolled out step by step during the beta.
The transition to Divi 5 sometimes requires technical knowledge; especially with customizations, specific modules or (external) plugin connections. Without a good approach, issues can arise. At Webtify we guide you through the transition: without risk, with next-level support.
